Safety requirements for a Diesel Generator

There are many requirements to meet when considering the safety of your generator. These do not always involve consideration for personal safety but measures to protect the generator itself. If your generator is a permanent installation it is important that a safety feature such as an automatic shutdown device be installed. This will protect from several malfunctions.

There are basically three monitored factors that can be considered when installing a shutdown device. One of these monitors the engine temperature and if these values are too high the generator is shutdown automatically. There is another that deals with the oil pressure and if there is a drop in oil pressure the generator is shutdown. There are also over-speed shutdown kits that can be used. It is by far the best choice to install all of these shutdown devices as a safety precaution to protect your equipment.
It is also recommended as a safety precaution that regular maintenance is carried out. The most maintenance that is required of a diesel generator is a regular oil change. This can do wonders in increasing the lifetime of your generator. Once properly maintained there will be few issues with your generator up to 30,000 hours or an approximate time period of 3 years.

Regular inspections of the generator should also be carried out at every oil change. Ensure that the generator is kept clean so it is easy to observe any leaks. This is important as a safety requirement as even if you installed the oil pressure shutdown device it is possible for significant damage to be done before it is triggered. The diesel generator in particular is very much dependent on proper oil amounts as it has a high pressure on the components.

It is of importance that the diesel generator be exposed to the proper amounts of fresh air or ventilation for cooling. Although the machines have a water cooling system built in it is vital that they are well ventilated. This ensures that the machines do not overheat. If storing the generator in a shed ensures that there are large enough ventilation openings. If noise is a concern the installation of a blower is a good safety precaution to protect your equipment. High temperatures are what will eventually kill an alternator and it is vital that this is controlled to extend the life of the generator.

In order to extend the life of your diesel generator it is possible to install an hour meter. This will alert you in terms of usage when maintenance is required and avoid improper maintenance practices.

In terms of your safety it is important that you are knowledgeable in electrical aspects and take proper precautions. Do not remove guards put in place for your protection unless you have professional assistance. If the machine is overheating be cautious of handling the equipment as serious burns can occur. Do not allow oil spills onto the floor as this is a fire hazard. Noise is another consideration for your safety. Make sure you install your diesel generator away from earshot range of your home and any neighbors. A sound barrier enclosure may be an idea if space is a limitation.

Home Generators

Home generators are designed to provide electricity in times of power shortages or failures for a short duration of time. Home generators not only light up the house in case of power outages but also, depending on their capacity, provide power to run appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, furnaces, television and heaters.

Home generators are available in two types: portable and stationery or standby generators. In times of power shortages or disruption of power, small portable home generators can be used to run some selected appliances such as lights, refrigerators, furnaces and sump pump. Generators come in varying size and capacities ranging from 1 kilowatt to 100 kilowatt. Home generators run on diesel, gasoline, propane or natural gas. The least expensive is the portable gasoline powered engine.

The size and type of generator depends on the requirement of a house owner. Is it required to power the entire house or to run just a few selected appliances? The total number of appliances to be run must be identified and total wattage added up. Some electrical equipment or appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners consume two or three times their normal wattage power to start. A generator that has capacity more than the maximum wattage requirement of the appliances must be selected. The total electric load on the generator should never be more than those rated by the manufacturer. Moreover, the generator must have the necessary voltage rating to run appliances rated at 240 volts. A 5 KW generator is sufficient for home use and cost around $600 upwards.

Portable generators should not be connected to the home wiring system. Use the recommended extension cords. Overloaded cords can cause fire. Never place the cords under the rugs or the carpet where it can get damaged. The electric load on the receptacles must be balanced. Portable generators must be located outside the house. Carbon monoxide that is emitted through these generators can be hazardous to health. Always allow the generator to cool down before refueling.

Stationery home generators require the service of a professional or a licensed electrical contractor for installation. The generators are connected to the home wiring system through an automatic transfer switch. Stationery generators come with an automatic power monitoring system. As soon as there is disruption in power, the generator automatically starts to provide power and switches off automatically after normal power is restored. Most of the generators run on natural gas and can be connected to the home?s natural gas line. This eliminates the inconvenience of refueling the generators. There are models also available that run on LP gas and diesel. Generators of 8 kw to 17 kw are sufficient to power lights, computer, refrigerators, medial equipment, furnace and water heater. The generator should be housed in a properly ventilated structure as they produce heat and smoke. Stationery generators may cost $2000 to $10,000 depending on the models.

Whatever the type of generator, every generator should provide 60 hertz power for proper performance of any electronic equipment.

Generators

Generators are used for the generation of electric power. There are basically two types of generators: standby generators and portable generators. Generators ensure that most of the essential appliances can be run whenever there is a power outage. Standby generators provide backup power in homes and offices and are permanently installed outside the house or office building. They are plugged into the electric circuits or home wiring. Standby generators can automatically detect disruption in the usual electric supply and begin supplying power within a few seconds. Portable generators are usually used in places where there is no supply of power or the need for power is less such as on construction sites camps. These generators are sufficient for lighting and to run appliances like televisions, refrigerators, sump pumps and furnaces.

Generators are available in varying size and output power. The choice of buying the right type of generator depends upon a number of factors such as the wattage capacity, voltage ratings, fuel type, fuel efficiency, noise level, portability and price.

Generators for home use most often run on fuels such as gasoline, diesel, natural gas or propane. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Gasoline is inexpensive and easily available. Gasoline generators gives the most power per weight unit but require frequent maintenance. It is also noisy, emits harmful carbon monoxide and the engine wears faster than diesel, propane or natural gas generators.

Diesel is easy to acquire but is comparatively more expensive. Diesel generators require less maintenance and are fuel-efficient. Its disadvantage is that it is noisier, emits more smoke and smells, and harder to start in cold weather.

Propane is expensive and is feasible for homeowners who already have a storage tank to store propane. Propane generators require less maintenance, has no condensation and no problem starting up in cold weather like the gasoline generators. However, propane gas or natural gas generators consume more fuel per kilowatt of power produced than diesel generators. Natural gas generators are the most convenient to use as there is continuous supply of fuel. They can be connected to home gas lines.

A generator should always be used according to the guidelines provided by the manufacturer. Care should be taken to see that the generator is not overloaded. A heavy-duty extension cord must be used to connect appliances to the generator. A qualified electrician must be called in to install a transfer switch to plug the generator to the home wiring system. Refueling the generator when in operation should be avoided. Spilling of fuel on the heated components may cause fire.

Smaller generators can meet most of the basic power needs of a homeowner. Buying a larger generator will consume more fuel to power the same appliances that a smaller generator could. A 5-kilowatt portable generator can power main lights, televisions, sump pumps and refrigerators. Generators of higher wattage capacity are also available according to the needs of the individual house owner. Commercial establishments may need standby generators having an output capacity of more than 200 KW and supplying three-phase power, that is, 120, 240, 480 volts.

It is always wise to invest in good quality generators. All brands and models of generators are listed on the -- a very convenient way to find the best deal.

Hidden Traffic Generator - A Review

I came across this newly launched ebook by Steve Cowan from a marketing newsletter I subscribed. The newsletter raves about the book and since I am a content writer, I had to take a look. The book talks about a simple little method to get endless streams of unique content for any niche FREE. The skeptic in me told me there is no such thing as free unique content unless you write it yourself. Well, curiosity got the better of me and I bought the book after reading a pretty convincing sales letter.

After reading the book, I kicked myself for not thinking of the idea myself! This method of generating unique content to be used for websites and blogs are so amazingly simple that I am surprise why not many people are using it or talking about it.

As marketers and webmasters, we know the importance of having unique content on our sites as not to offend the big search engines like Google and Yahoo. Duplicated content has become a serious issue and search engines are coming up with innovative ways to de-index these sites. Moreover, readers love unique content which offers them the very information they are looking for. More readers , more sales! What about articles submission? Articles are a great source of long term free traffic. However, if you are not using unique content, do you think readers will want to read an article which is repeated hundreds times? So, UNIQUE content IS King!

Unless you can afford the time to write the content yourself or the budget to pay someone to write for you, you need to get this book. Period.

The book has around 76 pages detailing only one simple system of generating and sourcing unique content FREE. Yes, this method is completely free. No other cost involved. The best thing is this untapped resource is so huge that you can practically generate free unique content for life! Will more people using this system brings about competition and over-saturation? The answer is a resounding NO! Will this system goes out of fashion? NO again. Is this similar to Private Label Rights or Public Domain content? NO again.

The writer writes in detail with graphics on how to set the system up and running, and how you can start profiting with this system.. The method is very simple and original with no technicalities involved. This system works for anyone.

The book is priced at $47. Is it worth the price? Let me put it this way, if a simple method can save you countless hours of writing time so that you can make more money, or save you tons of money from hiring ghostwriters to write your articles, is it worth the price of the book? You answer the question. Think of the possibilities of using this free content generating method to drive more traffic to your websites and blogs, to earn a reputation as an expert in your niche or even just be a writer without having to write everything yourself. The possibilities is endless.

Get the book if you value your time and money or simply want to make more money.

Five Tips for Making the Phone your Semi-Automated Income Generator

We humans are a funny breed. We whine and complain about being lonely and neglected in this increasingly impersonal world. Yet we have insatiable cravings for automated, instant processes and services. We want what we want, when we want it, without having to talk to anyone or answer any questions. Right?

Successful Internet business owners are perfectly aware of the paradox and have prospecting/selling systems that cleverly meld the need for both human interaction and automated function. No matter how automated your online business may be, adding that ounce of human touch is sure to increase sales and signups by huge margins.

As much as we were hoping to be rid of it, the telephone just might be your best friend when it comes to building human relationships with prospects. That's right. Just when you thought you had automated yourself past the need for a telephone, you find yourself needing it more than ever. The following 5 tips and power phrases will help you use the phone as nothing more than another tool for automating business. Do not use the phone to sell. Let the phone be your semi-automated income generator.

1) Presenting Yourself on the Phone

When approaching your prospect on the phone for the first time, they must immediately sense your positive energy and desire more of it. If not, they will quickly be rid of you. Avoid the monotone telemarketer voice that is flat and devoid of life. Your voice must convey sustained enthusiasm (as opposed to over the top insanity) as well as a measure of genuine concern. This takes practice. Start by noticing how others talk to you on the phone. Learn from the telephone voices that are able to hold you on the line. Also, you are the best at being yourself, so there's no need to try to imitate other people that you may consider successful at telephone prospecting. Let your own personality and traits come through rather than trying to put on a false front.

2) Find Out Their Interest Level

The first goal of your interview with the prospect is to learn their interest level. This will allow you to weed out the tire kickers from the serious money makers right from the start. Try this line with your prospect: "I see you are interested in starting an internet business and making money from home. Is that still true?" This powerful phrase does two important things for you. First, it lets the prospect know that you are already aware that they have taken some kind of action to express their interest. Second, because they know you have this information about them, it's difficult for them to turn you away or deny their interest.

3) Take Control of the Conversation

At this point the prospect may try to rush you to your point and impatiently demand a 3-word description of what you're offering. Take a breath and try these key phrases in any combination that works well for you: "Well, let me tell you how I work. First, I need to know if you're serious about making money online from home so that we don't waste each others' time. If you are serious, I've got something absolutely phenomenal to share with you. If not, then that's okay and we still part friends." This is powerful! It let's you take control of the conversation and conveys that you will lead them through the information gathering process with your professional expertise. However, it also removes the pressure by providing an out for the prospect. Yet at the same time, the prospect intuitively wants to prove him/herself as a "serious" candidate. I mean really! Who doesn't want to make serious money online from home? You are now in a position to explain what the prospect must do next to become more informed about your offer. This is when you use your phone to "automate" the sales process and refer them back to your site to take appropriate action. Perhaps you need them to watch an online presentation, submit a form, review a product, take a survey, etc.

4) Get the Prospect to your Site Immediately

Like I said, we want the phone to be a part of our automated system. We do not want to use the phone to sell. While you've got them on the phone, ask if they can simultaneously be on online. Most prospects can. Direct them to your site and show them the information they need to absorb.

5) Call them Right Back!

Now, you can hang on the line while they watch, but I prefer to give them a few minutes and schedule a call back within the next 10-15 minutes to get their reaction. This removes some of the pressure and again lets their defenses down. When you've got them back on the line for the second time DO NOT TRY TO SELL. Let your automated system do the selling. Remember, you're there just to add the human touch. You can even try this line, "Look, Bob. I'm not here to sell you or close you on this. I'm not going to ask you to put down any money or sign any forms. I just want you to get fully informed because I'm convinced that this is the best (name your product) on the market and I'm confident you will think so too. And if you're serious about using this opportunity to make money online from home then I'm sure we'll have a long and prosperous business relationship. So here's what I need you to do now." Again, you're in a position to redirect them to the final stage of action that will bring them closer the sale. Refer them back to the site for this final action.

In my case, all I have to do is direct them to a call back request form where they submit some details. One of our team leaders follows up with my prospect all the way through to closing. The professional sales team does all the work for me and then notifies me when I have money coming in! Talk about the perfect blend of automated sales and human relationships!

Bonus Tip: If you're still not convinced that the phone can be your semi-automated friend, then consider adding a live chat feature to your web page. This allows your visitors to contact you with questions while they are still at your site! That is extremely powerful and instantly adds a human touch to the sales process. Most live chat features also allow you to be proactive and approach a browsing visitor with a friendly, "Hello there. Let me know if you have questions!" Currently, zazachat.com is offering FREE live chat services for any website while they are beta testing, so give them a try. The only negative to this approach is your required presence at the computer to make it effective. If your chat feature is consistently "offline" then visitors will possibly feel neglected or even conned.

In summary, remember that while your business may be fully automated and can generate sales without your personal touch, using the phone to add that ounce of human contact can greatly increase your profits! Your goal is not to sell them on the phone, but to enhance your automated system's performance by referring them back to your site and encouraging them to take action. Autosurfs - The New Generator of Making Money

Autosurf sites are a new way for people to make money. It is definitely not a get rich quick idea. The basic concept is that someone signs up for a site and then watches ads. Only so many ads are watched per day and a percentage is earned by watching them. It is usually only about 1% so it takes a long time to make any significant amount of money. The belief is that someone watching the ads may see something they wish to purchase and visit the site, thus generating a profit for the site. This is how the autosurfer gets paid, from sales made at the site. It is actually a relatively new concept in terms of bringing internet traffic to a site, even though it has been around for several years.

Some autosurf sites work by also paying the person a percentage of those they recruit to watch the ads. So in a way it could be listed as a pyramid program. The idea here is that the surfer will earn more money by having people under them, watching the same ads. Many sites charge a fee to join before allowing someone to watch the ads. In essence that person is helping to pay for another person's ad watching. It also helps out the site owners by letting them keep more profit from gaining watchers without paying more out of pocket. The fee can range and higher fees can give access to more ads, to entice the surfer to think they will earn more money faster. For some this is the case, especially someone that does not need to work outside the home and has long hours to sit in front of a computer doing nothing. Of course there is also the fact that many sites don't require any feedback or acknowledgement that a person actually saw the site, and thus someone could just have their computer on but be doing something else.

There are questions of if an autosurf program is nothing more than a Ponzi scam with different terms. This stems from places that charge to join and then pay older members from the newer ones join fees. They have also been called pyramid scams when someone will earn more money by having others under them. It is similar to robbing Peter to pay Paul. People should be wary when seeing an offer to make money just by watching ads. Many places have payout amounts that can take months to reach, so that it is not really worth the time that will be put in.

Cheapest Online Money Generator

Are You Ready To Explode Your Income Sky - High & Make $500 - $1,000 Every Day?!

Dear Friends,

My name is Joey and I am a Singaporean. I am 25 years old. 3 months ago, I couldn't even afford a proper lunch, I just skipped my lunch during my office hours. I was so down with luck that I had actually thought of tired of living at times. You see, like a percentage of Singaporeans, I am only an 'O' level holder. Recently, I came across an email and like everyone else who sees the heading, 'Make $30,000 per month,' I was curious and clicked on the link. First thought, to be honest... BULLSHIT! But as I read on and got more and more convinced of how the system works, I thought to myself, what is that small membership fee compared to the chance to earn thousands of dollars every month? And so.... I did it, I used my POSB Debit Card to sign up as a member with the website and to my surprise, I made that fee back within the first 24 hours! And I haven't stopped making money ever since.

I have only been on this system for 3 months, but I have achieved some results from this. The system is on Auto-Pilot and all I do is wake up in the morning to check my ClickBank account! I highly recommend this site to everyone. SuperWebSecrets.com offers a 60 day money back guarantee, so what have you got to loose, you would have made hundreds or thousands of $$$ in that 60 days.

Well Friends, the decision is yours. Ask yourself, seriously, what have you got to loose when you have a Money Back Guarantee? Make the right one. I know I did. For now I bid you Farewell and Good Luck.
You too can be RICH!

Best Regards,
Joey.

Electric Generators

Electric generators are used to supply power to homes, commercial and industrial establishments when there is a disruption of power. It is also used in places where there is no supply of electricity. Electric generators come in a wide variety of models, size, and prices. Choosing the right electric generator depends upon an individual?s need. A homeowner first has to identify the appliances to be powered by the generator. The total wattage required to run these appliances has to be added up, including the starting wattage requirement of some of the appliances such as refrigerators. This makes up the total wattage power required from the generator. Lights and other smaller appliances require 120 volts of power, whereas appliances like electric stoves and driers require 240 volts. It should be checked whether the generators have the necessary voltage ratings.

There are few features that have to be considered before buying an electric generator. First, make sure to check to see if the engine has an overhead valve. An engine that comes with an overhead valve start easily, last longer and is less noisy. Second, check whether the engine has a cast iron sleeve in the cylinder to protect the engine from early wear and tear. In addition to this, electric generators come loaded with many convenient features such as electric start, power switch to alternate between 120 and 240 volts, low oil shut down that shuts the engines when the fuel in the tank reaches a certain level and an hour meter to show the duration of time the engine has been running. Electric generators are generally powered by gasoline, diesel, propane or natural gas. There are inexpensive but have a short life. Diesel generators are fuel-efficient, have a longer life but are relatively expensive. Propane and natural gas generators are best suited where fuel is ready available.

Certain precautions have to be taken while using generators. They should always be located outside the house to prevent exposure to harmful carbon monoxide. They should always be kept dry and should not be touched with wet hands to avoid getting electrocuted. Generators should not be refueled when in operation -- spilling of fuel on hot components may cause fire. It is always wise to invest in a good quality generator. Electric generators can be purchased at any appliances or hardware store. Industrial and commercial electric generators are available with their respective dealers. All brands and models of generators are listed on the web sites.

Why every home needs a backup generator

We all take the little things for granted like the use of power running the refrigerator, microwave, TV, and other appliances or electronics in our homes. Why? Because power is usually on without even the slightest problem most of the time. But what about those times when there are power outages? That is when we realize that electrical power is a great necessity to our every living from providing heat and light to cooking our meals. For those who have realized this importance and have bought a standby power generator from their homes, the idea of prolonged blackouts is not as scary.

Why does every home need a power generator? Well lets take a look at the ice storm of 1998 that plagued the North Eastern part of the United States and Canada. Many casualties from hypothermia to other causes effected the people of the region as prolonged blackouts kept homes without electricity. Those that had power generators were lucky as they were still with power and could perform everyday functions like laundry, heat baths, and other everyday activities you could not imagine going without. Those without power generators had to tough out the storm and blackouts or find someone who would lend them a generator. Just from this case alone, shows the need for power generators in every home. Many other incidents besides ice storms, like the 2003 power outage in the northeastern United States that caused several power plants to shut down, can render an area without power for up to a week. Other natural disasters such as tornados, hurricanes, floods, and mudslides can cause the same crippling damage to power lines and effect homes all over a region. Many businesses have power generators to protect their assets. The same case can be presented for homes. Is it not a safe bet to buy a power generator to protect the people in your house from the what ifs.

Visit Powered Generators.com to help you find an affordable generator for your home as well as determine the right wattage to run the necessary appliances and other electronics in case of blackouts. Be sure to visit my section on home generators for a continuation to this article.

Mini-Sites -- Highly Targeted Sales Generators

If you're looking for a highly effective method of increasing your Internet sales, then mini-sites may be your answer. Mini-sites are one of the most effective marketing tools online. Not only are they effective, but they're also very inexpensive and easy to create.

The concept is simple. Create a one or two page website that completely focuses on one specific topic. Everything within this page should have one purpose -- getting your visitors to take action.

This page should be neatly designed in standard HTML with no Flash or fancy plug-ins and very few graphics. There should be no banners or outside links of any kind -- nothing that will distract your visitors' attention.

The sole purpose of a mini-site is to attract highly targeted traffic. The more targeted the better. For example, if you have a website that sells a number of products, a good mini-site will focus on one specific product instead of all of the products. You can create a mini-site for each product you offer.

Designing Your Mini-Site

Each mini-site you create should be optimized for that one specific product. Concentrate on just a few keyword phrases, as this will help you to tighten your targeting. Remember ... the tighter the targeting the better.

* Title - Your "Title" should contain your most important keywords. You've probably heard that before, but I've found a slightly different method for optimizing the title. Since mini-sites focus on just one product, place the "most" important "keyword phrase" first. Not just your most important phrase, but the keyword phrase that you think people will use when they do a search. Instead of capitalizing the first letter, type it in lowercase, as most people type in all lowercase letters when searching. This will assist you in ranking higher in the Search Engines for your targeted audience.

* Description - Your description should focus on one specific product and not generalize. Make sure you include your most important keywords towards the beginning of your description. In addition, make sure your description describes your site in detail. You want your potential visitors to know exactly what you're offering. Your description should be less than 200 characters.

* Keywords - Concentrate on just a few keyword phrases.

* Heading tags - Search Engines pay close attention to the text displayed within the "Heading" tags. Place your most important keyword phrase within a "Heading" tag.

* Graphic Alt tags - Place a readable keyword phrase within your graphic "Alt" tags.

* Text - All of your text should focus on your product. There should be no filler text whatsoever. It should have one specific purpose -- getting your visitor to take action. Make sure you include your keyword phrases throughout your text.

If you'd like to set up your mini-site using tables, try to place your "Heading" text above your "Table" code. If this isn't possible, make sure you include your keyword phrases within your top left "Table cell" to assist you in ranking higher in the Search Engines.

Mini-sites are not limited to just your products. They can also be used with any affiliate programs you may be promoting. You can include extra incentives such as a free bonus for purchasing the product or even your personal recommendation. This is a great way to presell the product.

Hosting Your Mini-Site

Although it is much better to have your own domain name, these sites can be hosted on a free server and still rank high in the Search Engines. Keep in mind, free sites do not build trust and credibility. No matter which option you choose, make sure you place your most important keyword phrase (the keyword phrase that you think people will use when searching) within your web address.

Drive Targeted Traffic to Your Site

Once you have tested the effectiveness of your site and have a good conversion rate, (the number of visitors compared to the number of sales) you can buy targeted traffic. Overture is the number one pay-per-click Search Engine and will most likely produce the best results. http://www.overture.com

For additional options, visit: http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com/ They provide information and reviews on a number of pay-per-click Search Engines.

The key to using this technique effectively is to bid on "very" targeted keywords. This will weed out the casual visitors and only attract your target audience. There's no sense in paying for visitors who really weren't interested to begin with.

In addition to bidding on keywords, you can also advertise in targeted ezines and even purchase some targeted banner advertising. Be creative and take the time to test all of your promotions prior to spending a lot of money.

If you really want to increase your sales, create some mini-sites. They are one of the cheapest and easiest to create profit generators online.
