RV Generators

The introduction of RV generators has made it possible for people who use smaller and towable RVs to enjoy the modern amenities of life.

Modern RVs have installed generators behind the drivers? seat, which provide electrical power. They draw their fuel supply from the engine?s fuel tank and can be operated while traveling. The generator automatically shuts down as soon as the fuel in the tank reaches a certain level.

Smaller RV?s do not come equipped with installed generators, and they need generators specially designed for them. These generators provide sufficient power to run appliances such as television, microwave, air conditioner and refrigerator.

RV?s are normally equipped with a 30amp or 50 amps electrical system. A 4 KW generator can power a 30amp electric system, while a larger generator with a wattage capacity of more than 6500 watts is needed for 50amps electric system.

RV generators are available in varying size and capacities. 5500 to 12500 watts class of diesel-powered generators can run two or three air-conditioners leaving some spare additional power for some other use. 5000 to 7000 watts generators come in models that are gasoline powered, or run on LP. Compact and lightweight generators, run on LP or gasoline and are available from 2500 to 4000 watt. For smaller RVs and conventional truck campers and travel trailers, specially designed gasoline powered generator ranging from 2500 to 4000 watts are available.

Gasoline powered generators are the cheapest. A 5.5 KW generator may cost around $3000, while diesel generators are the most expensive costing around $6000 for a 5.5 KW generator.

Specially designed RV generators produce less noise and are built tough to run for many hours. The latest RV generators have very low noise and vibration level and come with value added features like remote control, electronic ignition, automatic voltage regulator, low fuel alert system and alert systems for overheating.

Home Generators

Home generators are designed to provide electricity in times of power shortages or failures for a short duration of time. Home generators not only light up the house in case of power outages but also, depending on their capacity, provide power to run appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, furnaces, television and heaters.

Home generators are available in two types: portable and stationery or standby generators. In times of power shortages or disruption of power, small portable home generators can be used to run some selected appliances such as lights, refrigerators, furnaces and sump pump. Generators come in varying size and capacities ranging from 1 kilowatt to 100 kilowatt. Home generators run on diesel, gasoline, propane or natural gas. The least expensive is the portable gasoline powered engine.

The size and type of generator depends on the requirement of a house owner. Is it required to power the entire house or to run just a few selected appliances? The total number of appliances to be run must be identified and total wattage added up. Some electrical equipment or appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners consume two or three times their normal wattage power to start. A generator that has capacity more than the maximum wattage requirement of the appliances must be selected. The total electric load on the generator should never be more than those rated by the manufacturer. Moreover, the generator must have the necessary voltage rating to run appliances rated at 240 volts. A 5 KW generator is sufficient for home use and cost around $600 upwards.

Portable generators should not be connected to the home wiring system. Use the recommended extension cords. Overloaded cords can cause fire. Never place the cords under the rugs or the carpet where it can get damaged. The electric load on the receptacles must be balanced. Portable generators must be located outside the house. Carbon monoxide that is emitted through these generators can be hazardous to health. Always allow the generator to cool down before refueling.

Stationery home generators require the service of a professional or a licensed electrical contractor for installation. The generators are connected to the home wiring system through an automatic transfer switch. Stationery generators come with an automatic power monitoring system. As soon as there is disruption in power, the generator automatically starts to provide power and switches off automatically after normal power is restored. Most of the generators run on natural gas and can be connected to the home?s natural gas line. This eliminates the inconvenience of refueling the generators. There are models also available that run on LP gas and diesel. Generators of 8 kw to 17 kw are sufficient to power lights, computer, refrigerators, medial equipment, furnace and water heater. The generator should be housed in a properly ventilated structure as they produce heat and smoke. Stationery generators may cost $2000 to $10,000 depending on the models.

Whatever the type of generator, every generator should provide 60 hertz power for proper performance of any electronic equipment.

Gas Generators

A wide variety of fuels are used to power generators. The most common are gasoline, diesel, propane and natural gas. With such a wide array of options, the house owner?s choice of fuel and the right type of generator will depend upon factors such as the availability of fuel and the frequency of the use.

Gasoline generators

Gasoline generators are the most familiar type of generator. The fuel is readily available and is relatively inexpensive. The power per weight unit in a gasoline-powered generator is also more than other type of generators. Gasoline generators are less expensive than generators that use other fuel sources. However their price depends upon the components used. Multi cylinder, water-cooled engines are qualitatively superior and are priced high. These generators, unlike the cheaper, single cylinder, air cooled engines produce less noise and operate with a steady temperature. Some generators come loaded with features like overhead valves, low oil shut down, high temperature shutdown and electric starter. Engine speed and the type of alternators used also determine the life of the generator

There are certain disadvantages using gasoline generators. Gasoline has a very short shelf life of approximately six months. Fuel stabilizers have to be added to keep the fuel from getting unusable. Gasoline is highly inflammable and storing gasoline for long duration of time can be extremely dangerous. Gasoline generators require frequent maintenance and there is the problem of condensation occurring in cold weather. Gasoline forms gum deposits especially in cold weather and can cause problems in fuel filters and carburetors if the generator is not run often.

The generators are available in 3KW to 15KW and more. The minimum cost of home generators in the range of 3KW to 5 KW is approximately $500 to $1000.

Natural gas generators

Most standby or permanent generators are powered by natural gas. It is the most convenient source of fuel and normally available at all times. Natural gas supplied through home gas lines can be conveniently piped to the generator eliminating the inconvenience of refueling and the risk of storing the fuel. In areas where natural gas is available, using a natural gas fuelled generator is a better choice. The generator lasts longer, requires less maintenance and burns cleaner. The engine produces less noise than diesel or gasoline powered generators

Propane gas generator

Propane gas is normally used for permanent standby generators or in places where there is an availability of fuel supply. For house owners who already have a storage tank of around 150 to 200 gallons, propane generators are the best choice. These generators require less maintenance. There is no problem starting them up or condensation in cold weather. Propane gas has a longer shelf life and burns cleaner. The disadvantage of propane is that it is relatively expensive and is less efficient, producing less energy per unit volume than diesel. A 10KW to 12KW generator is sufficient to power a normal sized home. A 12KW propane or natural gas generator may costs $3200 upwards.

Review of Directory Generator by Armand Morin

Directory Generator is a software product that can generate hundreds of keyword-targeted web pages. The purpose is to help you get targeted traffic to your website so you can make more sales or earn commissions.

I was one of the earliest users of Directory Generator before it launched publicly August 26, 2004, so I?ve had a little head start in testing it.

Let me give you a little background info first: In late 2003, new traffic generating software appeared called Traffic Equalizer. I have to admit I knew nothing about it until recently. My guess as to why is that it is talked about mostly among big marketers, and probably mostly at seminars.

It?s just like Armand Morin to ride the traffic software wave and even try to make a better surfboard. And that?s what Directory Generator is.

It is supposed to be equivalent to software such as Ranking Power, Traffic Equalizer, and Traffic Hurricane, which allows you to get targeted traffic by generating pages that get high search engine rankings. The difference is, like most of what Armand does, the results are classier and more professional looking.

Of the previously mentioned programs, Traffic Hurricane is the only one that is free. Why pay for this other software if you can get it free? Because your Traffic Hurricane pages will have someone else?s Google AdSense ads on your pages, earning them money off your traffic. Now that I have Directory Generator, I don?t need someone else earning money from my traffic unless they?re going to pay me part of it. Selfish, aren?t I? One other thing: I?m surprised no one noticed this but Google doesn?t allow Adsense code to be placed on pages not owned by you, so the way this is set up might get someone into trouble.

I know what you?re thinking?Yeah, that?s nice but can Directory Generator really generate targeted traffic? Absolutely! The first website I created with Directory Generator is steadily earning Google AdWords income every single day without me doing a thing. It took 30 days for traffic and commissions to really start kicking in. I don?t want this to sound like hype but this is the easiest money I?ve made so far. Nevertheless the second website I made isn?t doing squat. But that just tells me: There?s no such thing as a sure thing. The domain name you choose and keywords you target can make a difference. But the second website also hasn?t been up as long, so we?ll see what happens?

Am I going to get rich off the money it?s generating? No, nor could someone quit their job with it, but at the rate it?s working I would earn the $250 price back fairly quickly. My goal was to first earn the domain fee back and I did. The site is listed in Google, but gets no traffic from there. Most of the traffic comes from other search engines. If it had multiple pages spidered by Google, look out!

I?ve heard through the grapevine of multiple people earning 4-figure monthly incomes from sites created with traffic-generating software. And I?ve heard of one person earning a six-figure income. For now, this test tells me that this software really does work.

Here?s a little secret: No one who uses traffic generating software will tell you their website URL. That?s because they don?t want people ripping off their profitable website. So you have to buy the software to see the sites it produces. At $250 a pop, that?s an expensive trial.

What do you do with the traffic it generates?

1. You earn Google Adsense commissions (this feature is built into the software).

2. You can add SearchFeed (you can?t add both. Google doesn?t allow it).

3. You can add a Linkshare ad to earn additional commissions.

4. The newest version lets you earn Amazon commissions.

BENEFITS: Easily generate 100s of keyword targeted pages for a niche directory.

Disadvantage: You still have to choose your keywords which will be your site theme. You have to know how to FTP the pages to your web host. Unlike Traffic Equalizer, the program won?t do it for you.

CONCLUSION: Highly recommended. Thank goodness Armand didn?t price this software too cheaply. If you only try one traffic-generating software program, I recommend Directory Generator.

Guaranteed Traffic Generators!

How do you promote a web site for a company that has an extremely limited buying group? Sure, most
of the companies on the Internet today sell one small product or service, which is searched for by
thousands, if not millions of people every day. But, if your company is like ours, you don't have a
lot of people searching for your product. Or your competitor's product! Our company is in the high
voltage capacitor business. There just aren't a lot of uses for our product in today's "smaller,
faster, cheaper" world. What does all of this mean? It means that I have to work twice as hard as
most web developers or promoters to get hits to our site. If your company is like our company, then
you will want to follow the experience driven methods I have listed below.

1. Links, links, links.
I can't say enough about getting sites to link to yours. It is a very simple method, but it takes
time and it WORKS! In my case, I have simply searched for companies that would require one of our
parts. I then write to them and let them know that we would be interested in a link to their site.
Nine out of ten times, they link to us without ever asking for a reciprocal link! Most search
engines today take into account the number of other sites that link to your site. They assume that
if other companies are linked to you, that your site must be good. Another approach is to search
for links to your competitor's page. Go to the sites that come up, and ask them to link to your site
as well. You will be amazed at the number of web sites that are simply devoted to linking to other
pages! To search for links to a page, try using AltaVista or HotBot. As an example, type in the
following: link:www.yahoo.com You will be amazed at the results! Of course, after you request
links to pages, you will have to wait until the search engines have indexed again before they know
that you are now linked to other sites. Search Engines index on a rate from every two weeks to ever
six months.

2. Meta tags.
You MUST make sure that you have your Meta tags generated properly. This has been covered by Web
Pro News an infinite amount of time, and it is just as important as registering your own domain
name. Without Meta tags, most search engines will just pass over you. For a brief explanation on
Search Engines and for a free Meta tag evaluation, visit Northern Webs at
http://www.northernwebs.com/set/setsimjr.html

3. Text Only versions of your site.
If your page is available to other countries, as our is, it is a good idea to have a text only
version of your site. Why? Because most of the people who are not located in the United States do
not have the Internet connection speeds that we here in the US take for granted. Most of these
people also have older computers with slower processors and low graphics capability. It has to be
annoying for people in foreign countries to go to a site that has a product that they need, only to
find out that they can't read the fancy Flash programming. I do not currently have this text only
version, but I am working on it as we speak. So, to all of you in foreign countries, I have
listened to your requests, and I am taking action!

4. New Killer Content.
Sure, you can have two thousand pages on your site. But, if someone has read them all, why would
they come back? You have to continuously update your page and add new killer content. I suggest a
weekly column or monthly bulletin. You just need something to keep the visitors interested in book
marking your site for future viewing.

If you really want to gain visitors, then you will. When I started our site, we had 25 visitors a
day. Now, we have had 100,000 NEW visitors in the past three months. We now have a 50% return
visitor rate. In our industry, that is good. For our business, it is working phenomenally! The
last bit of advice I can offer is to continually read the Web Pro News daily! It offers intelligent
and cutting edge information, which will help your web site grow exponentially.
